What is the history of LILATE?
2017 :
- LILATE® is added to the national interprofessional list (LNI) of certifications eligible for the CPF.
- Only one test centre: Lingueo is the only entity able to deliver a LILATE evaluation. The first partners are checked for prerequisites, e.g. quality labels.
2018 - 2019 :
- LILATE opens up the possibility of becoming a test centre inspired by the TOEIC with the ambition to increase its visibility and speed up its distribution.
- Launch of the LILATE® test-centre platform — this partner platform allows both the reception and the control of contractual documents, registrations, etc.
- Implementation of candidate feedback requests and qualitative feedback sessions.
2020 :
- LILATE® becomes the professional development certification within very large French groups.
- Observation of abuses (COVID period): fake partners claim to provide LILATE preparation, sometimes even in languages that are not covered.
- Increase of controls: regular exchanges with the Caisse des dépôts, implementation of shadow audits, checks on the match between the number of trainings set up and the number of LILATE taken by the partner, etc.
2021 :
- As a consequence of the audits: LILATE goes from more than 200 partners to fewer than 40.
- Evolution of the LILATE platform to align with the certifier space of the Caisse des dépôts.
2022 :
- LILATE® changes its name and becomes the “Test d’aptitude à travailler dans une langue étrangère - LILATE®” and shifts its communication to focus on the purpose rather than the modality of the certificate.
- End of the “Test Centres” strategy and return to the “internalization of the TEST” for perfect quality control.
- We allow our historic and high-quality partners to administer LILATE tests already committed until August 31, 2022, but terminate ongoing agreements.
- New partnerships with new obligations.
- Modification of the platform which will support partners in complying with the new rules and which allows us to monitor in real time which organization is preparing which learner in which language, with what progression, what learning objective, what training program, in which financial framework (use of CPF or not, if yes with DOSSIER EDOF ID) so as to be able to deliver not only certificates in real time but all the elements of the candidate’s/stage-holder’s pedagogical journey to the CDC as well as to France Compétences.
