What happens if I’m absent from my LILATE test?
Absence from a LILATE test results in the definitive loss of that test. This article explains exactly what happens depending on your situation and what you need to do.
General principle
Once your LILATE test has been booked (Examiner mode) or made accessible (AI mode), it is due.
- In LILATE Examiner mode: if you do not attend the scheduled slot, or if you cancel less than 24 business hours before the slot, the test is forfeited.
- In LILATE AI mode: if you do not complete your test before the deadline shown in your Candidate Area, the test is forfeited.
The loss of the test is definitive, regardless of the reason for the absence or non-completion. No refund, free postponement or complimentary retake may be granted.
A new attempt is only possible after placing a new order, paid for by you, your employer or the training provider that financed your certification.
I know in advance that I will not be able to attend
If you know in advance that you will not be available:
- LILATE Examiner: you can modify your slot directly from your Candidate Area, provided that you do so more than 24 business hours before the reserved slot. See the article How do I postpone / reschedule my LILATE test?
- LILATE AI: there is no slot to reschedule, but you must complete your test before the deadline displayed in your Candidate Area. Plan ahead.
I was absent or did not complete my test on time
You must send us an email at lilate@lingueo.com within 5 business days after the missed test date or the expired deadline.
Important: this email is not an appeal to obtain a free new attempt. The test remains forfeited. The declaration is used solely to document your situation with LILATE as the certification body, your training provider and, where applicable, the supervisory authorities or your funder. This is why, in some cases, this procedure may be in your own interest (see below).
Your email must include:
- your first and last name;
- the email address used when placing the order;
- your CPF file number, if applicable;
- the relevant mode (LILATE Examiner or LILATE AI);
- the date and time of the missed slot, or the expired deadline;
- identification of the funder of your training (CPF, OPCO, France Travail, employer, personal funding);
- the reason for your absence or non-completion, together with any supporting document;
- your electronic signature (email sent from your personal address, or signed letter attached as a PDF).
Upon receipt, we will acknowledge receipt and archive your declaration.
Specific case: training funded by the CPF or public funds
⚠️ If your LILATE test takes place at the end of training funded by your CPF, an OPCO, France Travail or any other public scheme, your obligation goes beyond your relationship with LILATE.
By enrolling in a certifying training course funded by your Personal Training Account, you have made specific commitments to the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, in accordance with Articles L.6323-6 and R.6333-7 of the French Labour Code and the Mon Compte Formation Terms of Use. In particular, you have committed to attending the exam in order to obtain the targeted certification.
In the event of non-attendance, you may be exposed to:
- the debit of your Personal Training Account for the full cost of the training;
- invoicing for the full cost of the training;
- suspension of your access to Mon Compte Formation for a period ranging from 7 days to 1 year.
These sanctions are decided by the public funder and apply independently of the loss of your LILATE test.
This is precisely why sending your declaration email within 5 business days is important. In the event of a legitimate reason, you will need to contact your funder (CDC, OPCO, France Travail) to try to claim force majeure and avoid these sanctions. Our archived declaration may then serve as a useful document for your file.
