What is the validity period for the LILATE?

As a certificate and attestation, the LILATE has an unlimited validity period and certifies, at a given point in time, your:

Level of knowledge in a language
Ability to work in a language

No validity period is specified on the certificate. However, the test date is mentioned. It is therefore up to the employer to consider the age of the certificate when determining whether it is acceptable.

We recommend re-testing your ability to work in a language at least every 2 years, for two reasons:

If you use the language infrequently, your level may have decreased
If you use the language frequently, your level may have increased
