Who will evaluate me during the LILATE test?
The LILATE test (Live Language Test) is conducted remotely, via videoconference, and in direct interaction with a real, live examiner. It is therefore neither an automated test nor a standardized questionnaire: you interact in real time with a professional, in the language being assessed.
🧑🏫 Kind and qualified examiners
We understand that taking an assessment can be stressful. That is why we ensure that each LILATE examiner demonstrates pedagogy, kindness, and professionalism. Their role is not to trick you, but to fairly evaluate your ability to communicate in a foreign language, in situations close to your professional life.
🎓 Recruitment based on linguistic and pedagogical expertise
All LILATE examiners have:
- Proven mastery of the evaluated language through recognized diplomas
- In-depth knowledge of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Significant experience in evaluating this language
- Completed specific training for assessment according to the LILATE certification framework
- Mastery of standardized evaluation grids
They assess each candidate based on objective criteria defined in our framework, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Additionally, most of them also speak French, which ensures smooth communication, especially for beginner-level candidates.
🧏♀️ What about sign language?
LILATE also offers certification in French Sign Language (LSF). So, are the examiners deaf?
Not exclusively. To guarantee the quality of the assessment, especially for beginner candidates, our LSF examiners can also communicate in French. This ensures that each session takes place under the best possible conditions, with clear and accessible communication for all levels.
🤝 A human, fair, and adapted assessment
In summary, you will be evaluated by a trained, experienced, and kind professional, capable of putting you at ease and assessing your skills objectively. You can approach the LILATE test calmly, in a human, professional, and respectful environment.
