I am not satisfied with my results, what to do?
We understand that it can be disappointing to receive a result different from what you expected. On this page, you will find information to better understand our process and the options available to you.
Understand the Evaluation Framework
- LILATE is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CECRL), an internationally recognized standard for evaluating language skills. The CECRL defines broad levels, which makes significant errors between levels rare.
- It is possible, though uncommon, for a person to be on the border of two levels, for example between B1 and B2. In such cases, our examiners assign the level that best corresponds to the performance demonstrated during the test, following objective and rigorous criteria.
Why the result may differ from your expectations
We understand that you might have had different expectations, especially if other certifications or academic paths suggested a higher level. What makes LILATE unique is that it focuses on your ability to use the language in real, practical work situations. Sometimes, factors such as stress, lack of confidence, or simply an ‘off’ day can affect your performance. That doesn’t mean you don’t have the skills, it just means the test reflects how you were able to demonstrate them at that specific moment.
Results are final
LILATE results are final and rely on a standardized and rigorous evaluation method. We do not assign levels lightly; our mission is to accurately reflect your language skills.
Requesting a Second Attempt
The LILATE is based on a rigorous methodology and guarantees a reliable assessment of your skills at the time of the test. However, we understand that a candidate may wish to try again, for example, if they were held back by stress or felt they did not fully demonstrate their potential.
This is why we offer the possibility to request a second attempt at a preferential rate of €90 (50% of the initial price), provided that the request is made within 10 days of receiving your results. This second attempt will take place with a different assessor, in order to provide you with a new impartial and fair evaluation experience.
This offer allows you to retake the test with another assessor. However, it is important to note that this re-evaluation does not guarantee a change in your level.
To do so, please follow the structure below when submitting your request to [lilate@lingueo.com](). This will allow us to process your request more quickly and send you the promotional code for the second attempt:
Email subject: Request for retake of the LILATE test – [Your Name] – [Date of the test]
Email structure example:
- Information about the first attempt:
- Date of attempt: [Indicate the date of the test]
- Test ID: [Indicate the identifier if possible]
- Certificate: [Attach the certificate as an attachment]
- Description:
- Briefly explain why you wish to retake the test. Provide precise details on the elements which, in your opinion, may have affected your performance during the first attempt.
In Conclusion
Our goal is to provide you with a fair, accurate evaluation that meets international standards. We understand that the result may be difficult to accept, but it faithfully reflects your skills at the time of the test. For any questions or to arrange a second attempt at a reduced rate, contact us following the instructions above.
