I am not satisfied with my results, what to do?

Receiving a level lower than you expected can be disappointing. This page explains how your result was determined, and the only available step if you wish to have its compliance checked.


Your LILATE result is final. It was awarded by a certified examiner (or, in the AI modality, by a controlled automated framework), using a standardised method, based on your entire performance in both speaking and writing.



Why your result may differ from your expectations


The LILATE does not measure an academic level. It measures your ability to use the language concretely in professional situations. A diploma or another certification may therefore indicate a different level: they do not assess the same skills.


The LILATE is based on the CEFR, whose levels are broad. When a candidate sits at the boundary between two levels, the examiner assigns the one that best matches the performance actually demonstrated.



Having the compliance of your result checked


Do you believe a procedural error or a technical incident may have affected your test? You can request a compliance check.


What it involves


A member of our quality team reviews your file and verifies that your result was established correctly: consistency of the assessment grid, absence of technical incident, compliance of the procedure. It is an administrative check of your existing result.


What it is not. It is neither a new test, nor a re-marking of your answers, nor a second attempt. You do not retake the LILATE.


Price and conditions


  • Single flat fee: €39, identical for the LILATE with examiner and the LILATE AI.
  • Request to be made within 5 days after the exam took place.
  • The check concerns the procedure, not a renegotiation of your level.


This check does not guarantee any change to your level. In the vast majority of cases, the check confirms the original result. The fee covers the verification work, whatever the outcome.


If a non-compliance is found


If the check reveals a genuine procedural or processing issue, your file is corrected and the €39 is refunded to you as credit towards another LILATE service.

The request is made only through the dedicated form. No request is handled via chat or phone, in order to guarantee fair and traceable processing for everyone.

How quickly is your request handled?


Compliance check requests are handled as a priority, ahead of routine tickets. Our team's principle is never to let a day end without processing all the requests received.


In practice, your request is generally handled within 24 working hours (excluding weekends and public holidays). You are notified by email as soon as the check is complete.
